Lloyd (Corky) Elkins born on September 3,1935 in LaPorte, Indiana to Marion Sr. and Ruth (Bellis) Elkins. Surviving are, sisters, Creta Mae Daniels of Alabama, Jackie Biller of Laporte, Indiana; and a step-brother, Michael Stiller of Denver Colorado. A sister, Shelby Ninemeyer; brothers, Marion Elkins Jr. and Bill Elkins; and a son-in-law, David Gorny preceded him in death.

Corky had people to meet, things to do and places to go. He carried this mindset with him throughout his entire life. Combine this mindset with a wild sense of humor, and inventors mind, and an entrepreneur's heart and you will know the measure of this man. On December 24, 1955 he married Betty L Colston who survives; she was his bride of 56 years. Together they had two daughters, Sheryl (Bill Varnak) and Brenda Gorny both of New Carlisle. Corky retired from A.M. General. Lloyd was an avid gardener, and fisherman. He loved camping, collecting and traveling. His fashion sense consisted of one word; orange! For nothing other than his favorite football team the Tennessee Vols. A teacher of many things and an overall inspiration to his grandchildren, Tiffiany C. (Brandon Hora), Noah Varnak , Justin Gorny , and Kody Gorny all of New Carlisle, and Sarah Varnak, Naples, Florida. He knew the substance of his life consisted of the love for his family. Lloyd also had the privilege of knowing and loving his great grandchildren, Eathen, and Sophia Hora, of New Carlisle, and Cyrus Varnak Canada of Naples, Florida. He was surrounded by his loving family and friends as he pursued his "next place to go". Now that's a life you can hang your hat on!
Lloyd was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, and the local Sons of the American Legion, post 297, New Carlisle.
