Denese J. Freestone, 64, of Rolling Prairie, IN, passed away at 5:20 p.m., Thursday, January 19, 2012 in Kindred Hospital Northern Indiana. Denese was born on July 10, 1947 in Abingdon, Virginia to William and Irene (Bowman) Anderson, and had lived in the New Carlisle-Rolling Prairie area since 1972. She had co-owned with her husband, Hair Together in Rolling Prairie from 1975 – 1995. On April 18, 1970, in the New Carlisle United Methodist Church, as Denese J. Anderson, she married Richard R. "Dick" Freestone, who survives. Other survivors include her daughter, Pamela (Michael) Zeese of New Carlisle, IN; two grandchildren, Alexa and Camden; her mother, Irene Anderson of New Carlisle, IN; five sisters, Patsy (Ralph) Messenger of Lubbock, TX, Diana Brown of South Bend, IN, Agnes (Bill Martin) Anderson and Jeni (Paul) Davis both of Ecuador, and Jill (Bubba) Chadwell of Mishawka, IN; and four brothers, Lester Anderson and Gary (Barb) Anderson both of Mishawka, IN, Pastor David (Lois) Anderson of Dearborn Heights, MI, and Jeff (Paula) Anderson of South Bend, IN. Denese was preceded in death by her father, William Anderson; and two brothers, Joe and Michael Anderson. Funeral Services will be held at 12 Noon E.S.T. (11 am LaPorte Time) Monday, January 23, 2012 in the First Christian Church of Rolling Prairie. Burial will follow in Rolling Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. E.S.T. (3-7 p.m. LaPorte Time) on Sunday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN and from 11- 12 Noon E.S.T. (10 – 11a.m. LaPorte Time) on Monday in the Church. Denese was a member of the First Christian Church of Rolling Prairie. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Pioneer Club at the Church.
