Ellen Ruscio, 60, of Mishawaka, Indiana passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016, in her home. Ellen was born on May 24, 1956 in South Bend to Richard and Betty (Kazmierzak) DeBruyne. She had formely been employed as a manager at the Days Inn Hotel and Irish Hills Apartment Complex. Ellen is survived by her mother Betty Kazmierzak of Granger, Indiana; her son, Adam Ruscio of Mishawaka, Indiana; her sister, Laurie Conant of Kalamazoo, Michigan; and two brothers, Joel (Cindy) DeBruyne of South Bend, Indiana and Michael (Marjorie) of Bloomington, Indiana. Ellen was very fond of all of her nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard DeBruyne. Per Ellen's wishes, she has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Ellen was an avid reader, loved music, and was a passionate University of Notre Dame Football fan. The Christmas season was her favorite time of the year. She enjoyed watching the many Christmas movies during the Holiday season. Ellen also loved cats. She had many pet cats throughout her lifetime. Memorial Contributions may be made in Ellen's honor to the St. Joseph County Humane Society or Center for Hospice Care, Kaniewski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
