Jacquelyn S. Deese, 74, of South Bend, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Healthwin Specialized Care Facility. She was born on July 23, 1942, in South Bend, to the late Jack Russell Carney and Mary Ellen (Blosser) Carney and was a lifelong area resident. On July 27, 1960, as Jacquelyn S. Carney, she married Charles A. Barna, who preceded her in death on January 17, 1970. On August 3, 1990, she married Thomas F. Deese, who also preceded her in death on June 24, 2010. Jacquelyn is survived by her daughter, Kimberly (James) Keultjes; her son, Charles Barna, both of South Bend; seven grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Jacquelyn will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr., South Bend, where friends may visit for two hours prior to the service. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN.
