Carolyn K. Kovacs, 79, of Granger (formerly of Osceola) passed away on Friday December 16, 2016 at the Hearth at Juday Creek. She was born on January 22, 1937, in South Bend, to the late Clement and Josephine (Mirocha) Grzeskowiak. Carol was also preceded in death by a brother, Frederick Grzeskowiak. Survivors include her sister, Sandra (Jim) Pontius of Mishawaka; two brothers, Thomas and Melvin (Judy) Grzeskowiak; a sister-in-law, Joanne of Lakeland, FL; four nieces, Debbie Hernandez, Paula Balderas, Jill Mejer and Katherine Blumberg; and by seven nephews, Todd and Bruce Pontius and Kevin, Jeff, Alan Mark and Eric Grzeskowiak . She worked as a Supervisor in the Purchasing Department for the South Bend Community School Corporation. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday January 7, 2017 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 4508 Vistula Road, Mishawaka. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to the Mass.
